The Rochester Fire Department provides critical fire safety education to community members of all ages, offering age-appropriate presentations tailored for schools, adult groups, and senior citizens. Taught by professional firefighters, these classes teach participants how to proactively reduce fire risks in their homes and what actions to take during an emergency. Key topics covered include the proper use, maintenance, and testing of smoke and carbon monoxide alarms, as well as creating and practicing a home fire escape plan. Presentations also highlight fire prevention practices, with special attention given to kitchen safety.
Refreshments will be available.
Supported in part by City of Rochester’s NIA (Neighbors In Action) grant.
