About The South Wedge Planning Committee
The South Wedge Planning Committee is a 501(c)3 community development corporation and New York Neighborhood Preservation Program committed to collectively building a South Wedge where community pride, local creativity, and thoughtful planning sustain a vibrant neighborhood for all.
Our Mission
SWPC’s mission is to build a healthy and vibrant community by connecting people to each other, to resources, and to our history. We advocate for the needs of our neighborhood, promote housing solutions, and foster community engagement through communication, programs, and events, because everyone is a neighbor in the South Wedge.
Service Area
Our service area is a small, roughly triangular
section of the southeast quadrant, bordered by the
Genesee River to the west, I-490 to the east, and Linden Street, South Avenue and Gregory Street to the south.
