Initiatives

SWPC supports neighborhood block groups, local associations, and volunteer groups to promote engagement and improve our community. Our Board of Directors and the Community Engagement Committee monitor and address neighborhood concerns and quality of life issues.

We offer programming to homeowners and renters alike to navigate housing issues within the neighborhood as well as to improve the health and safety of their homes. 

Thinking of starting a business or need advice for your company? SWPC offers business workshops to help local business owners gain new strategies and networking opportunities with other South Wedge business owners.

SWPC supports wellness related activities in the neighborhood. We offer socials to help reduce isolation and to help foster community connections, a twice weekly walking group to help you get your steps in while exploring the neighborhood, and the Annual Wedge Waddle every Thanksgiving morning.   We partner with the Rochester Healthy Homes Partnership to keep up to date on ways to reduce home…

Our neighborhood is home to the South Wedge, Linden-South, and Mount Hope historic districts on the National Register of Historic Places and the South Avenue/Gregory Street and Mount Hope/Highland Park City of Rochester Preservation Districts.

SWPC offers a resource and information library for residents in need.
