Initiatives

SWPC supports neighborhood block groups, local associations, and volunteer groups to promote engagement and improve our community. Our Board of Directors and the Community Engagement Committee monitor and address neighborhood concerns and quality of life issues.

In partnership with the Small Business Development Center/SUNY Geneseo, SWPC provides assistance to small businesses with start-ups, business plans, tax questions, employee issues, and other concerns at no charge to the participants.

SWPC supports wellness related activities in the neighborhood. Walking based activities like The South Wedge Steps and The Wedge Waddle promote healthy individuals and a healthy neighborhood.

The South Wedge, Linden-South, and Mount Hope historic districts are listed in the National Register of Historic Places. The National Register is an inventory of cultural and historic resources that have regional, or national significance, and the program is overseen by the National Park Service.
