Fall is one of my favorite times of year in the South Wedge! I love seeing how beautiful our neighborhood looks as the leaves change colors, painting our streets with gorgeous shades of red, orange, and gold. It's a wonderful reminder of what makes our neighborhood so special, from our beautiful homes and tree-lined streets to the people who make this community feel like home.

At the South Wedge Planning Committee (SWPC), we have plenty of ways to celebrate the season together! Join us for South Wedge Steps walking group that meets Tuesday’s and Thursday’s to explore
our neighborhood, enter our Halloween Decorating Contest, bring your kids Trick-or-Treating in the business district on 10/22, or join us for the annual pub crawl-Night of the Living Wedge-on 10/22. As
Thanksgiving approaches, participate in our annual Thanksgiving Wedge Waddle, which brings neighbors together while supporting SWPC's programs and gather socks for Saint Joes. And don't forget
to show your holiday spirit by entering our Holiday Decorating Contest and joining us for Beers and Carols!

Fall is also the perfect time to prepare your home or apartment for winter. Check your heating system, seal drafty windows, clean your gutters, and test your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. A little
preparation now can make the colder months more comfortable and safe.

Looking to learn something new? SWPC offers free classes and workshops for residents, homeowners, renters, and small business owners. Visit www.swpc.org to explore upcoming classes and events to keep busy during the colder months.

I also encourage you to become an official member of SWPC. Your membership helps us continue providing community events, educational programs, housing resources, neighborhood improvements, and opportunities for neighbors to connect. Whether you own a home, rent an apartment, operate a local business, or simply love the South Wedge, there is a place for you!

I am proud of the community we continue to build together. Thank you for supporting SWPC, participating in our events, and helping make our neighborhood such a beautiful and welcoming place
to live. Let's enjoy the fall colors, celebrate our neighborhood traditions, and keep the South Wedge thriving!
